The term "Do Now", also known as "Bellwork", is a technique that was mentioned in the book Teach Like A Champion. Do Now is a technique that is used so that students have something to work on immediately as they enter the classroom. Questions, a reading task, these assignments should be something that students can complete independently for at most 5 minutes. It is great to use to revisit already taught skills. This allows for the teacher to check to see that students are retaining taught information, and if not clear up misconceptions or briefly reteach.
